The itinerary starts from the Varzo train station. Take the road leading to the town centre, with the nice Church and Medieval Tower, and the proceeds towards the rural communities in the municipality of Cattagna and from here onwards we take the small road which takes us up to the Durogna Oratory, from which, passing by the communities of Casafranchi and Casagrande we arrive at Dreuza. As an alternative, Dreuza can be reached via the paved road which passes through Coggia. From Dreuza the syndicate road continues along numerous hairpin bends up to Solcio and the stylish Crosta Mountain Hut. As far as the track’s descent is concerned, we must backtrack to the place where the road comes to a fork where any of the Dreuza or Calantigine and Maulone directions can be taken. Proceeding in this direction and following the paved road in its entirety we come down till we cross the provincial Varzo – San Domenico road in the vicinity of Maulone. From here onwards you can decide whether to follow the provincial road in its entirety up to Varzo or whether to take other secondary roads which go down through the rural communities in the municipalities Piaggio e Mugnè or, at the third hairpin bend after the fork for Coggia the road which takes us up to Frazione Colla can be taken, and from here the (very narrow) paved road up to the parking lot behind the Varzo Church or the nice unpaved mule track takes us up to the road bridge in the city centre
