The hamlet of Gondo, with its massive Stockalper tower, has been placed at the meeting place of the GrossesWasser, which comes down from Zwischbergental thus forming waterfalls and potholes, and the Doveria,
Which traverses its gulleys. This is the valley known for its Stockalper gold mines and Walser settlements. The higher part is encircled by peaks resting at heights of above 3,000 meteres above sea level, culminating at the hill of the same name between the Andolla Peak (Pizzo Andolla, 3656 m) and the Waissmies (4023 m). In the part that takes us to the Andolla Mountain Pass there are some characteristic tablelands and the view from the Mountain Pass encompasses the Antrona Valley with its lakes and indented edges.
The path, starting at Congo, passes all of Zwischnergental up to Cheller. Here we cross the torrent along the bridge and go back up to the Andolla Mountain Pass and then via a steep downhill slope we reach the Andolla Mountain Hut.
