From Riale we go up towards the Maria Luisa Mountain Hut and Toggia Lake following the path marked G20 which cuts through the road’s hairpin bends. From the Toggia Lake Dam we follow the unpaved road which coasts the whole Lake up to when we get to the Saint Giacomo Mountain Pass (2,313 meters above mean sea level). From here onwards we start going down across the mountainside passing by the Formazzora, Stabbiascio, and Valleggia Alps. Thus we take the track which via a few regular hairpin bends goes down to the bottom of the valley allowing us to cross the Ticino River and by means of a carriageable way reach the small village of Ronco.
