This route represents a variant of the second stage and allows, once arrived in Gurro, to go directly to Cursolo shortening and simplifying the route. This stage coincides with a stretch of the Via Geoalpina designed by the Valgrande National Park for the great geological interest that the Cannobina Valley has. From the Falmenta hostel cross the town in the direction of the church. Here, take the mule track on the left which crosses the upper part of the town and climbs halfway up towards Gurro, skirting the southern flank of Mount Riga. With a last steeper section you reach Mergugna, climb over the ridge and then go down to Gurro. Cross the town and in the area of the church take the mule track that descends to Ponte Teia. After crossing the Cannobino stream, go up to cross the provincial road of the Valle Cannobina and follow it to the right for about 650 m until Airetta. From here, take the mule track that climbs steeply until it crosses the beautiful Orasso-Cursolo mule track: turn left and you will soon reach Cursolo.
