Excursion on beautiful paved mule tracks to discover ancient rural hamlets with admirable examples of stone architecture.
The route:
Starting from the hamlet of Pontetto of Montecrestese, follow the signs for the A04 path, go uphill along beautiful mule tracks to Roldo, then turn onto the L00 path for Vignamaggiore which continues along the Isorno valley. Pass the huts of Parè and the chapel of the Crosetta until you will cross the paved road and continue to Naviledo, with admirable examples of stone architecture. Cross the whole hamlet and going up the hillside you will reach the Cappella dei Basini and immediately after the beautiful paved mule track cross the hairpin bend and shortly you will reach Altoggio. At the beginning of the village, take the A04 path that descends to Piccioledo and the Cappella delle Grazie and finally you will reach the Church of Montecrestese. Cross the town square and reach the cemetery from which a mule track branches off which goes back to Cardone and then descends to Roldo where you have to return to the uphill path that you have to follow until Pontetto.
