From Malesco head towards Toceno and then climb up to the height of the last houses of the Promez hamlet, before entering the Arvogno valley. Above the road the mule track starts which, climbing in the coniferous forest, arrives at Colma di Fuori. Then you have to go up to the last hut and from here take the dirt road on the right that leads to the La Piana ski resort. From the refuge (1706 m), proceed north-east for the ski slope which then becomes a comfortable mule track and climbs north to the Bocchetta di Muino (1977 m). From the Bocchetta you will descend rapidly towards the lakes of Muino (Rifugio CAI Emilio Greppi - Closed). From the lakes of Muino, leave the main route of Stage 3 on the right towards Fondomonfracchio, and go up a very short stretch to the Bocchetta di Ruggia, where a beautiful panorama opens onto the Onsernone Valley. From the Bocchetta di Ruggia you have to go along a nice flat traverse, which leads to the Passo di Fontanalba. From here you will descend passing through the Camana and Cantonozzo Alps until you cross the Rio of Valle Agrasino at about 1600 m. Go up slightly on the opposite side until you cross the path L00 for the Bocchetta del Lago Gelato. Take this path on the right and follow it for a short stretch along the course of the river and then rise on a path that is not too evident among the pastures and you will finally arrive at Alpe Cortevecchio where the Bonasson Bivouac is located.
