The “Blossomng Path” is a thematic path put together by the Devero Park Vigil in proximity of Kastel Lake, inside the Community Interest Site “Maria Luisa Mountain Hut” in the very vast “Formazza Valley” Protection Area. The “Blossomng Path” starts at the Lake Castel guard house, follows up to the Ghighel Alp, and unravels amid grassy environments of exceptional naturalist and botanical interest in an area which is well known among scientists for its botanical, geological, and morphological characteristics. The relative multimedia contents can be downloaded from the site www.cariplovegliadevero.it

From Riale we take the G20 track which cuts through hairpin bends towards the Saint Giacomo Pass. At the end of the steep ascent, and not much before the Maria Luisa Mountain Hut, we take a right on the small road which goes up to the Castel Lake dam. We then follow along the small road which coasts the lake up until we get to the bottom end of the lake where we face the Ghighel Alp. Here we take the steep path which goes straight down or we continue along the recently built road which gets us near the Alp. From the Alpine lodging houses a path (marked with code G22a) begins from a pass delimited by two small stone walls and takes us straight down to Upper Frua (Frua di sopra) where we meet the mule track which joins the Toce Waterfall with Riale.
